The programme focuses on the Birds of the Lebialem Highlands / Mt Bamboutos region considered as part of Cameroon’s biodiversity ‘hot spot’. They are known for their exceptional species richness including a high number of endangered species (with presence of unique wildlife such as the Bannerman’s Turaco and Banded Wattle-eye).

The ornithology program is now focused on moving the Lebialem Highlands into an Important Birds Area and integrating into the BirdLife International network.
