Local stakeholders/partners

The local community of Magha-Bamumbu: these are beneficiaries of the project. When it comes to ABS compliant, these people are the main actors considering the fact that they are holders of the Echinops biological resources and traditional knowledge related, if any.

The Environment and Rural Development Foundation (ERuDeF): ERuDeF is a Cameroonian non-profit organization. Its mission is to support the sustainable management of biodiversity through the development of sustainable livelihoods. ERuDeF is the focal point of the project in charge of project implementation.

National partners

The Ministry of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development (MINEPDED): It is the Focal Point of the Nagoya Protocol and REDD+ Initiatives. It is assisting the implementation of law in relation to ABS.

The Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife (MINFOF), is responsible for the creation of the Mount Bamboutos Integral Ecological Reserve and its management. Any other formalities related to the reforestation and community forest are under the responsibility of MINFOF.

The Institute of Agronomic Research for Development (IRAD): there are responsible for any type of research for the development and domestication of biological resources. We have agronomic trials and establishment of plantations.

University of Bamenda: there is a student carried out research in order to identify potentially valuable natural resources to be introduced in ABS principle.

International partners

The charity Man and Nature, France: It is the ERuDeF technical partner. He ensures the budget management and the monitoring of ERuDeF activities. He brings advice and expertise in the field of ABS.

The V. Mane Fils enterprise: It is the granter of the project, it participates in research and product development from the Echinops giganteus and other useful resources for fragrance and flavors sectors

The French embassy in Cameroon: it is financially supporting the management of Mount Bamboutos environment with the reforestation activities, economic development activities as well as the ABS implementation process in Cameroon.

Foundation Lea Nature is also a funding agency financially supporting the management of the environment with the trees planting activities.

The ABS Initiative for Africa is a worldwide organization supporting the development and implementation of national regulations on ABS,

The GIZ Corporation just as the ABS Initiative is pushing forward the ABS process in Cameroon
