A three-day Strategy and Fundraising Meeting sharpens the tools and leadership needed to drive ERuDeF’s 2050 Vision across the continent.
ERuDeF Media Team has held a Media Strategy and Fundraising Meeting, a gathering that was as much about building the future as it was about strengthening the present. With staff drawn from across the organization’s departments, the meeting marked a significant milestone in ERuDeF’s journey toward becoming Africa’s leading conservation organization by 2050.
The meeting was part of a broader mission that sees communication, fundraising, and media not merely as support functions, but as strategic pillars in conservation work. For ERuDeF, telling the story of Africa’s biodiversity crisis is inseparable from solving it.
Capacity Built. Strategy Sharpened.
Over the three days, staff engaged in structured sessions designed to sharpen both individual skills and organizational systems. The agenda covered ground that is often overlooked in conservation organizations, that is, making the case for funding, building programs that deliver measurable results, and planning media activities with financial discipline.
Key focus areas included:
- Developing compelling fundraising pitches that connect donors to conservation outcomes
- Building structured, impact-driven programs aligned with ERuDeF’s mission
- Designing a comprehensive media team budget that supports long-term sustainability
- Creating a practical, results-focused fundraising plan to mobilize resources for conservation work
These are capacities that will serve ERuDeF well as it scales its work across the continent from its current base in Cameroon to its target landscapes stretches across East Africa, West Africa, the Gulf of Guinea Islands, and the Lake Chad Basin.
Leadership Recognized, Roles Elevated
A standout moment of the meeting was the public recognition and promotion of outstanding staff members by ERuDeF’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Nkembi Louis. The announcements signalled not only personal achievement but an intentional investment in strong, capable leadership to carry the organization’s expanding vision.
The following promotions were announced:
- Madam Anjuah Vivian — Chief Finance Officer and Operations Manager
- Madam Amamboh Carrey Pride — Director of Media and Communication
- Madam Ndoh Mirabel — Senior Finance Officer
- Madam Etheldrela Metuge Sirri — Chief of Staff
These appointments reflect ERuDeF’s evolving institutional architecture, one built to match the ambition of a continent-wide conservation mission. As ERuDeF targets more landscapes and deepens its program work, strong, specialized leadership is very essential.
One Organization. Many Voices. One Mission.
ERuDeF University Institute, one of the organization’s key pillars, was well represented, a reminder that building the next generation of conservation professionals is as central to ERuDeF’s mission as protecting species in the field. The cross-programs engagement demonstrated that ERuDeF’s strength lies not in any single department, but in the collective resolve of its staff.
Part of a Bigger Story: ERuDeF’s 2050 Vision
By 2050, ERuDeF aims to be the leading conservation organization across Africa, working across critical landscapes on the continent. These target landscapes include Cameroon, East Africa, West Africa, the Gulf of Guinea Islands, the Lake Chad Basin, Congo basin and the growing academic and research ecosystem being developed through ERuDeF University Institute.
Every fundraising pitch developed, every program structured, every plan designed during these three days brings ERuDeF closer to that 2050 goal and closer to a continent where biodiversity is protected, communities are empowered, and conservation is driven by African-led institutions with global credibility.
Looking Ahead
The knowledge, strategies, and networks built during this engagement are expected to generate tangible results across ERuDeF’s conservation initiatives in the months ahead. The plans developed will feed directly into programmatic work, donor engagement, and communications outputs that amplify ERuDeF’s voice and impact.
ERuDeF remains committed to its founding mission of Conserving Species, Saving Biodiversity, and Impacting Lives.
