ERuDeF Junior Professional Programs Launched @ ERuDeF Institute of Biodiversity for 2016/2017 Academic Year

The Chief Executive of ERuDeF is seeking to recruit up to 10 prospective candidates into ERuDeF from 2018. These Junior Professionals will be trained for up to twenty four months respectively at its ERuDeF Institute of Biodiversity and in ERuDeF field programs. This professional training initiative is aimed at helping ERuDeF to build its human resources team in order to consolidate and expand its national conservation programmes in Cameroon.

The personnel recruitment process through Junior Professionals (those without experience) into ERuDeF takes several stages namely; a selection test and oral interview, formal training and professional mentorship. The written examination and oral interview seek to test and assess the candidate’s long term passion to environmental conservation. Meanwhile the formal training that takes 12 months at the ERuDeF Institute… and payable by the Junior Professionals themselves, seeks to introduce the Junior Professionals to a new range of skills in the field of environmental conservation, non-profit management and fundraising. These are the three essential skills needed to be successful and grow to the top in any non-profit career. The third and last phase of the training, the Mentorship Program that takes place in ERuDeF, seeks to integrate the Junior Professional into the real world of work through his/her full integration into the implementation and management of real world programs in ERuDeF. The mentorship program takes up to 12 months. Holders of Master degrees and with some meaningful professional experience may take up to 12 months.

Partial fellowships of up to 20% the training costs are available to the most dedicated candidates who would have been successful in the selection test and oral interview. All the field costs (100% subsidy) shall be incurred by ERuDeF. The selection and oral interviews shall be conducted on a rolling basis until end of September 2016 in Buea. The positions are none-paid positions. While the training program begins in October 2016 at the ERuDeF Institute, the mentorship program In ERuDeF will start in July 2016.
